Rule #11: Micromanage. Thats the only tried and tested real management technique. Common you know you want to! . Those who done believe that are just stupid.
Rule #10: Make processes and chastise everyone who breaks the process. You and only you should be the maker and breaker.
Rule #9 : Everyone is running against a deadline. If you Dilly Dally enough and, to meet their deadlines, their superiors will at some point agree to all your terms – no matter what cost – and call it a “short term” solution with no concrete term defined.
Rule #8 : Push the ball in others’ court – you dont have to make sense doing it. You can always challenge them – “oh! if that didnt make sense you should have let us know, because ball was in your court”.
Rule #7 : Never miss an Oath. Take an Oath, sign an Oath. It makes you look good and no one holds you to it.
Rule #6: Take Credit. Period.
Rule #5 : Giving away baseball tickets and other such trinkets can get you much further in the world (When compared to other skills such as quality, expertise, experience or competency)
Rule #4: Impressions matter more than your capability
Corollary: What you wear matters more than what you can achieve.
Rule #3 Professionalism – Talent may make you indispensable, only Politics can help you progress.
Rule #2 Professionalism – Screamers get all the attention. So keep screaming.
